| Visitors | The page does not say whether a visitor without a Thai ID card qualifies, or which Pattaya units take part. Ask the unit before you go. Source: HIV Info Hub: HIV benefits |
| National notice | A notice of 24 August 2026 lists PrEP among the HIV prevention options people can access, with condoms and PEP. Source: Notice on HIV testing and PEP |

|---|---|
| First visit | A consultation with a review of your history and risk. Before starting, it tests for HIV, kidney and liver function and hepatitis B; no fasting is needed. It says the process takes about 30 minutes and up to 12 bottles can be dispensed at the first visit. Source: PrEP in Pattaya page (PULSE Gallery site) |
| Recent exposure | It asks that there was no possible HIV exposure in the 14–21 days before you start. A risk in the last 72 hours is a PEP question. Source: PrEP in Pattaya page (PULSE Gallery site) |
| Prescription | With an existing PrEP prescription you can buy the medicine. With check-up results from the last 3 months you can get a 12-month supply; without them, you are tested at the clinic first. Source: PrEP in Pattaya page (PULSE Gallery site) |
| Published figures | One bottle of 30 tablets: Tenof-Em 1,100, Teno-Em 1,250, generic Descovy 1,640, Descovy 3,150. Twelve bottles of Teno-Em or Tenof-Em: 13,900 with the doctor fee and lab tests. The page prints these without a currency or a date (seen 23 October 2026). Published figures, not a recommendation of a medicine. Source: PrEP in Pattaya page (PULSE Gallery site) |

Shown, not resolved
Where the sources disagree.
- PULSE’s PrEP page gives the North Pattaya branch +66 84 236 2259; its indexed contact page gives +66 62 828 7969, the South branch number. We show both.

Left out on purpose
What we could not confirm.
- Which Pattaya public hospitals or units provide free PrEP with the NHSO, and whether they serve visitors without a Thai ID card.
- SWING’s PrEP price, eligibility and first-visit tests.
- Whether Takecare prescribes or stocks PrEP.
- A dated PrEP price with a currency for a PULSE Pattaya branch.
- Injectable PrEP at a named Pattaya branch.
We will recheck these sources by 21 November 2026. If you know of an official source we missed, tell us through the corrections page.
01 / PrEP or PEP
PrEP is before a risk; PEP is after one.
If a possible exposure has already happened, the question is PEP, not PrEP. The Department of Disease Control says PEP should be received as soon as possible, within 72 hours: see emergency HIV PEP in Pattaya.
02 / Before you go
Three questions to ask the clinic.
- Do you start PrEP for visitors, and what should I bring?
- Which tests come before the first prescription, and how long does the visit take?
- What is the total for the first visit, and for each refill?
03 / Limits
This page stops at logistics.
We do not advise on whether PrEP suits you, which medicine or how to take it: a doctor decides that. Medicine names and figures below are what a clinic publishes, not recommendations.
