Four hospitals · no ranking
24-hour emergency departments, as each hospital publishes them.
Order: north to south. The phone numbers are the hospitals’ own; they are not the public ambulance service, which is 1669. Distances are straight lines we calculated from the map pins shown, not road distances or driving times.

Payment and insurance · in each hospital’s words
What the hospitals publish about paying.
- Bangkok Hospital Pattaya (Out-patient page; it does not say whether the same applies at the emergency department.)
- Cashless (direct-billing) out-patient service only with insurers contracted with the hospital; otherwise advance payment may be required.
- Asks for a passport and a signed copy, the insurance certificate or card, a policy copy and any identification the insurer requires.
- Pattaya International Hospital (No payment, deposit or insurance process on the pages we read. Ask the hospital.)Pattaya International Hospital: Emergency Department (ER) page, (opens in a new tab)
- Pattaya Memorial Hospital (Insurance page and FAQ.)
- For general and emergency services, have ready: a national identity card or a card issued by a government agency, and an insurance card or insurance number.
- Thai and international private insurance through the hospital’s insurer partnerships; expenses outside the policy are paid by the patient.
- Payment methods listed: credit cards, cheques and cash.
- Jomtien Hospital (Emergency Department and Health Insurance pages.)
- Road accidents: compulsory motor insurance (CMI, พ.ร.บ.) from any type of vehicle can be used at the emergency department without paying in advance.
- Patients with accident or health insurance are served 24 hours under their policy (Thai-language insurance page).
Public hospitals
Public hospitals: no 24-hour emergency hours published.
The four hospitals above are all private (Ministry of Public Health registry). These public hospitals in our directory publish no emergency-department hours on the pages we could read, so we do not list them as 24-hour. That is a gap in what they publish, not a statement about their service.
- Pattaya Bhattamakun Hospital: Public (Ministry of Public Health) hospital. Its own pages publish no emergency-department line or hours (22 October 2026); the site did not answer on 24 October 2026. Pattaya Bhattamakun Hospital: Hospital website, (opens in a new tab) (Connection reset on 24 October 2026; 22 October 2026 reading kept)
- Pattaya City Hospital: Government hospital (Ministry of Interior). Its website was not working when we checked on 14 and 19 October 2026, so no hours or phone are published here.
- Somdej Phra Sangharaj Nyanasamvara Geriatric Hospital, Chonburi: Government hospital for older people. Publishes office hours Monday–Friday 08:30–16:30 and an out-of-hours in-patient line, 0 3834 3567; no emergency department is named. Not confirmed
What we could not confirm.
- Bangkok Hospital Pattaya: its pages returned HTTP 403 on 24 October 2026, so the 24-hour statement, EMS number and insurance process are our 14 October 2026 reading, and its map pin is from OpenStreetMap, not the hospital.
- Pattaya Bhattamakun and Pattaya City Hospital: no published emergency-department hours could be read, so we do not list them as 24-hour. That is a gap in what they publish, not a statement that they turn emergencies away.
- Deposit amounts, guarantee letters and walk-in fees for foreigners: none of the four hospitals publishes them. Ask the hospital or your insurer.
- Road distances and travel times: not published. The distances here are straight lines between coordinates.
Method. Each hospital’s own emergency-department, insurance, FAQ and contact pages, read 24 October 2026 (Bangkok time) from the cloud workspace, quoted or closely paraphrased. Bangkok Hospital Pattaya’s pages refused automated reading (HTTP 403) on 24 October 2026, so its row keeps our 14 October 2026 reading and says so. Public or private status is the Ministry of Public Health registry status already on each profile. Distances are straight-line (great-circle) distances we calculate from the coordinates listed; they are not road distances or travel times. No calls, visits or test journeys.
Reference points. Pattaya City Hall (12.9492216, 100.8928036); Central Pattaya (Beach Road) (12.934694, 100.8834771); Bali Hai Pier (12.9272867, 100.8677322); Jomtien Beach (mid-point of the mapped beach) (12.8772661, 100.8843719), from OpenStreetMap, read 2026-10-24.
01 / What to bring
What the hospitals ask you to have ready.
These are the hospitals’ own published lists, quoted with their sources above; they are not a complete checklist. Do not delay calling 1669 to collect documents.
- For identification, Pattaya Memorial Hospital asks for a national identity card or a card issued by a government agency for general and emergency services. Bangkok Hospital Pattaya asks insured out-patients for a passport and a signed copy.
- For insurance, an insurance card or insurance number (Pattaya Memorial Hospital), plus the policy copy and any identification your insurer requires (Bangkok Hospital Pattaya, out-patient page).
- For medicines and records, Pattaya Memorial Hospital’s FAQ asks first-time patients for a list of current medications and any relevant medical records or test results.
- After a road accident, Jomtien Hospital says compulsory motor insurance (CMI) from any type of vehicle can be used at its emergency department without paying in advance.
02 / Limits
This page covers access and paperwork, not care.
We do not assess symptoms, say which hospital suits a condition, or rank hospitals. For police, Tourist Police and other contacts see emergency numbers in Pattaya; for deposits, guarantees and claim documents see insurance, billing and deposits.
